What is a digital guru? It's what best describes my work as a whole.
I am a creative professional formally educated at The Art Institute of Seattle as an established and seasoned graphic designer. However, my interests are many. I am also a photographer, web designer and web coder, and videographer and editor. As a creative professional, the lines between each vocation starts to blend. As it should. I do hold the mantle of graphic designer, but I think digital guru encompasses all my vocations and interests.
The principals of graphic design spill over and compliment photography. A graphic designer who is a photographer is a better designer and a photographer who is a graphic designer is a better photographer.
Photography into videography / cinematographer. Design into editing. Editing into web coding. Graphic design into web design. It is all very much symbiotic. Creative arts are creative arts. The genres shouldn't limit.
The computer is an efficient tool to maximize the creative process for the most desired final product. The more proficient you are technically in any art field, the more you can maximize your creative muscle. Creative arts is all about communication.
